Wastewater flows into the clarifier via the central feed well, where solids settle by gravity. The central drive rotates scraper arms through a vertical shaft, collecting sludge toward the center hopper using blades and guide plates. Sludge is discharged by gravity or suction. The system includes automatic torque monitoring for overload protection and may include a surface scum skimmer.
